Danica Dawn Johnson makes the ideal goddess (musical comedy division) in Bayou City Concert Musicals? Houston premiere of One Touch of Venus.
With her blithe manner, lithe moves, capricious charm and radiant soprano, Johnson generates real magic. She and equally strong leading men Rob Flebbe and Joe Kirkendall give splendid voice to the key numbers in Kurt Weill?s intoxicating score, the show?s central strength. That in itself makes the enterprise worthwhile.
