(AP) ? The General Assembly will try again next week to pass a bill intended to curb prescription drug abuse in a state where more people are dying from overdoes than car wrecks. House Speaker Greg Stumbo said the proposal would allow staffers in the attorney general's office to monitor prescriptions to make sure doctors aren't overprescribing medicines and that those buying the medicines aren't getting them from multiple physicians and pharmacies. Kentucky Medical Association President Shawn Jones said his group has opposed the legislation out of concern about the handling of sensitive personal medical information about people who have been prescribed painkillers and anti-anxiety medications.
